The importance of background images & videos
Our presentation templates are a wonderful jumping-off point, but one of the great things about myiDecide presentations is that you can completely customize them to match your brand. One of the most important aspects of your presentation will be the background images and videos. Having great visuals can be the breaking point between an eye-catching and engaging presentation or something your viewers will have to suffer through. Here are some tips and tricks to creating the best-looking presentation for your company!
Size & Resolution #
The scale of your images is highly important in creating an impressive and visually pleasing presentation. Your images should be a minimum of 720 pixels by 1280 pixels with a resolution of 72ppi or higher. Any smaller or lower resolution will severely diminish the quality and give you a potentially blurry image.
Example 1:
1280 x 720px
300ppi

Example 2:
1280 x 720px
50ppi

Contrast #
You want to choose a background that will have a high contrast against your message. If your text and background colors are too similar in shade or tone it will be difficult on the eyes to read. The greater the contrast the better.

Low Contrast

Example 2:
High Contrast
Composition #
Composition is also a key factor in increasing legibility. It is much easier to read your message against negative space in a photo rather than on top of the subject matter.

Focus #
If you were going to have a lot of text on screen or perhaps you’d like your message to be front and center, a picture with a soft focus or slight blur will really let your text shine. A busy background will do the opposite, and bring focus away from your focal point.

Using Background Videos in your myiDecide #
Bring your presentation to life with engaging background videos. Anytime you have text on screen for a long period of time or button choices for the viewer to click, adding a background video is a great way to add movement on screen to keep the viewer interested.
Video too large? No worries, you can compress your video to a smaller size to upload..
