Location Basics<\/span><\/h1>\n

iDecide uses AI to identify <\/span>the viewer\u2019s<\/b> location at the time they\u2019re watching the presentation. This is dynamic text that updates each time the presentation is watched \u2014 it will not just display text you enter in their contact field.\u00a0<\/span><\/p><\/div>\n\t\t\t<\/div>

If you are testing or viewing a presentation link that was generated for a Contact, the location displayed will reflect <\/span>your<\/b> location\u2014because you\u2019re the one currently watching it.<\/span><\/p>\n

When your Contact views the presentation, the system will display their own location at the time they watch it.<\/span><\/p>\n

Location is Showing a Neighboring City<\/span><\/h1>\n

Here\u2019s what\u2019s going on behind the scenes, in simple terms:<\/span><\/p>\n

  • The Geo-Location feature looks at the\u00a0<\/span>IP address\u00a0of the device that is watching<\/b> the presentation.<\/span><\/li>\n
  • Every device has an IP address, and that\u2019s what tells our system \u201cwhere\u201d the viewer is.<\/span><\/li>\n
  • Different internet providers, servers, and browsers sometimes\u00a0<\/span>hide or \u201cfuzz\u201d the exact location<\/b>\u00a0to protect user privacy. This is true on <\/span>any<\/span><\/i> website that uses IP-based location.<\/span><\/li>\n
  • Mobile phones, especially when they\u2019re\u00a0<\/span>not on Wi-Fi<\/b>, are often less accurate because their IP can be tied to a wider area (like a region or city, not a specific town).<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

    A few examples that might help:<\/span><\/p>\n
