When someone watches a presentation, iDecide sends back everything they chose. This workflow writes that onto their contact record, so you open a contact and see what they actually wanted rather than just that they watched.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n

Start the workflow<\/h2>\n

  1. Create a new workflow and name it something like Get iDecide Choices.<\/li>\n
  2. Set the trigger to iDecide Finished.\n
      \n
    1. Optionally filter the trigger to a single presentation, so this workflow only runs for that one.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<\/li>\n
    2. Save the trigger.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<\/div><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n

      iDecide Finished fires when a viewer reaches the end or when they abandon partway. Either way, you get every choice they made up to the point they left, so it is the safest trigger to build on. The other trigger, iDecide Post A Link Started, fires before the viewer has chosen anything, so it is no use for this workflow.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n

      The quick version, everything in one field<\/h2>\n

      Add an Update Contact Field action, point it at a notes field, and use the dynamic picker to insert Viewer Choices from the trigger. That writes every answer as a single line separated by commas. It is good for one \"About This Viewer\" field you can read at a glance before a call.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n

      The Flexible version, one answer per field<\/h2>\n

      To fill a specific field, say Industry, the comma-separated line will not do. You need that one answer on its own, and that takes a different action.<\/p>\n

      This is useful for times when you'd like to reference a specific answer in a follow-up email, or send different follow-ups based on their answer to one question (ex: follow-ups based on whether they are already a licensed financial advisor).<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n

      1. Add the iDecide action, Get Viewer Choice.<\/li>\n
      2. The iDecide Session ID automatically populates from the iDecide Finished trigger.<\/li>\n
      3. In the iDecide field, pick your presentation.<\/li>\n
      4. In the Question dropdown, pick the question you want. The dropdown fills with the real questions from that presentation.<\/li>\n
      5. Add an Update Contact Field action and use the dynamic picker to write that answer into the field.<\/li>\n
      6. Repeat for each question you care about.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n

        Tip:<\/strong> There are two actions with nearly the same name, Get Viewer Choice and Get Viewer Choice (Legacy). The option labeled with Legacy is outdated and should not be used.
